Love the premise of this game but I don't think I've ever seen anyone playing it. I'd be curious to know if they are actually making a profit. |

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on their starter set Blood on the Aventine, which will be headed my way very early in the new year. for the price, it's a stellar deal. Seven figures, rules, counters, etc, as well as some INCREDIBLE scenery. Very excited. |

"B'hoys!" when first published in 2005, and now in its Third Edition, was immediately seized upon by at least one Gent who wrote us telling how he wanted to adapt the basic system to Roman street conflicts between political gangs, chariot driver fans, etc. At the time, I wondered what figures he had in mind to use. Well before these came along, to be sure, but these are just about perfect for the idea now. Aside from the obvious dispensing with firearms, the weapons are the same (fists, feet, sticks, and paving stones), and the pyschological model of mob behavior is essentially universal. Now, if only affordable, authentic Roman streets, shops, homes, etc, were readily available. Hmmm… may have to look at providing something along the lines of "Hostili Vicos" ("Mean Streets")….. the rules look interesting, and I was very tempted to buy them at only £5.00 GBP (£9 with shipping to the US) but it'd be an extra £35.00 GBP to get a full set of cards, and they're out of stock on two sets, which still means £28.00 GBP for a set of cards. |

The one of the left looks more like he's wearing a sari than a toga. Not sure what the one in the middle (Putin) is supposed to be wearing, is his costume based on a tv show? One on the right looks plausible for ancient Rome. |

I thought, what's a "Grumio?" But, not being in the UK and as much of Brit' TV doesn't run in the US unless it's on BBC America. So, what the hey, who cares what a Grumio is… Last night tho' I discovered "Plebs" on Amazon Prime! After watching the first three episodes of Season 1, my take… 1) Yes, that's Grumio. 2) They take a few liberties w/ 1stC BC Roman society -- Flavia is married, so there is no way she'd be running a business (tho' if her husband had died and left all to her in his will, she could, as long as she never remarried). 3) The whole thing reminded me of some of the basic plot-lines of "Big Bang Theory," simply set in ancient Rome. I will have to think about it before I decide to watch any more episodes. Except to say, that if I had lived in ancient Rome and Grumio were my property, he'd be for the chop! The Irish slave in "Dark Ages" was a far more useful fellow… Come on folks… let's hear a cheer for the Millennium Sphere!! |

BTW -- if the other female slave is supposed to be "Metella," then the sculptor did Lydia Rose Bewley a CONSIDERABLE injustice!!!!!!!!! |
