I found this little gem on Youtube. The video blogger starts with a discussion of basic tactics of the period for both sides, then shows off the weapons and how to build the ammunition, and finally gets some trigger time with them. You can really get a feel for how breech loading weapons changed everything during the middle of the century. YouTube link Here is an interesting and concise history of that conflict. Very snazzy!
