They didn`t use flags, that is poetic licence from an earlier era. |

… and they wore hooded djellabahs – and they didn't wear face veils; that was a Tuareg affectation. Why can nobody (except Rif Raf Miniatures) get north African tribesmen right? It's not as if there's a shortage of pictorial references. |

Maybe strelets got the flag idea from: Rif War Berber leader Abd elKrim surrendering to the French troops on 27 link |

Trouble is even though that is a period illustration they got the flag all wrong, Abd el Krim`s Rif Republic flag looked like this: [URL=http://s140.photobucket.com/user/Richard_Baber/media/Morocco/Flag_of_the_Republic_of_the_Rif.svg_zpsx2nytydk.png.html]

Plastic Soldier Review says -- and I believe them -- that these figures are not appropriate for the Berbers in the Rif War. They theorize that perhaps they were originally meant to be figures for the Middle East Hejaz Revolt and that Strelets decided to get more mileage out of them by advertising them as "Rif War" figures. |

These are awesome for Arabs in any Foreign Legion game! Far better than what Airfix did. You could use them alongside Lawrence, as well. |
