I've never purchased anything bigger than a Dreadnought. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience (good or bad) with the Forge World Macharius Heavy Tank? It's a lot of money to spend on a single model and I've been unlucky in finding any reviews on Google. Thanks for any input either way. |

I have the Macharous Omega, the one with the plasma blastgun on it. Like all forgeworld resins it goes together nicely but be prepared to have either a heat gun or a hair dryer read because inevitably you will need to do some heating and bending with the resin. The treads were a bit fiddly too now that I think about it. Eg |

For general FW/resin model work, it's nice to have a large bowl of very hot water (I used the Instant Hot Water tap my Dad had installed, so ~190degF/95degC). That made fixing bent parts or bending ammo feeds very easy. Put the parts in the water, let it soak up some heat, bend/twist/fold/spindle/mutilate as necessary, and then let cool in air. Just, with water that hot, you do NOT put your hands in it! |

That's what I was afraid of based on YouTube reviews of other FW models Lion. I figure I'll give it a try. There are so many good models over there I just wish they could do them in plastic. Anyway, thnx, if I survive the Macharius then I'd like to get the Spartan too. That things a beast. Cheers. |
