Another year nearly over and following on from Confess Your Gaming Crimes TMP link and Confess Your Gaming Crimes II TMP link a time for reflection. Time once again to reflect on you gaming crimes and admit your failings to your fellow TMPers in order to beg for their mercy and compassion. What gaming crimes have you committed this year? Confess! - Is the colour of the static grass you use on the bases of your Normandy troops actually more suited to southern Italy? Confess! - Have you included vehicles or tanks in a scenario that historically only appeared in theatre the week after the date of your scenario? Confess! - Is the wood used to make fencing for a game of the same type that would have historically be found in the area? If not, why not? Confess! - Do you hold the heretical believe that dice have no memory and there is no way they can curse you with constant low rolls? Confess! Confess your gaming crimes! Confess them now! |

Hello, my name is StryderG and I play with toy soldiers. (hello StryderG) During the past year, I have played games with paper markers and unpainted lead. And I've fudged die rolls, but I play solo so my opponent doesn't mind. |

Hello , MY name Wackmole9 and I also Play with toys During the past year I restarted a old gaming love, but it was by a new company, with new Miniatures, New scale, and worstest of all a new Rules set. Also I wrote bad things about the most sacred and holy site of Miniature Grognards. |

I painted nothing this year – that's my crime. |

I have not spent any money on the hobby since Historicon. |

I deliberately acted so as to end a game early because the GM was a being a p***k. |
UshCha | 12 Dec 2018 8:52 a.m. PST |
Extra Crispy, that was a true act of a Gentleman, more an act of heroism. My only crime is not annoying folk often enough by telling them how good my rules are! Oh and not saying how much I hate 28mm. So I have been really good this year, I even painted 6 metal figures (Must wash my mouth out with soap for using the "M" word). |

My big AWI project has British in Tricones, even the Guard Battalions. I went for iconic look rather than historically accurate. And those British have Hessian Allies that have facing colors to regimental flags. I had a bunch painted up with flags separate and I struggled to match flags to units so just based as best I could. I feel shame…. but will be gaming with the above figures this weekend so all is good. Chris |

I've continued my decades long crime spree of using 1994 "Pigwars" for Dark Age & 1999 "Mordheim" for Renaissance convention skirmish games rather than the most current sets of rules written specifically for these periods. |
21eRegt | 12 Dec 2018 10:30 a.m. PST |
I've used bases made to represent the ETO in North Africa. I have too many grenadiers/guards in my Imagi-Nation army. I have changed dice mid-game because I somehow believe the dice hold sentience and hate me. |
Korvessa | 12 Dec 2018 10:52 a.m. PST |
I used T26 tanks to represent Beutepanzers in Normandy. But like strydberg, my opponent didn't mind. |
BrockLanders | 12 Dec 2018 12:00 p.m. PST |
I was judging a game and gave extra reinforcements to one side because a player on the other side just rubbed me the wrong way |
Winston Smith | 12 Dec 2018 12:27 p.m. PST |
I've run Guilford Courthouse many times, but never bothered to paint up the 2nd battalion of Guards. I would use instead the 64th foot or DeLancey! Not only that, I gave the 1st battalion of Guards flags. I feel so much better with that confession. |
warwell | 12 Dec 2018 12:37 p.m. PST |
I don't like collecting figures. The fewer the better is my mantra. |
Bismarck | 12 Dec 2018 2:13 p.m. PST |
I have bought 54mm plastic army men for WWII Pacific from various sources along with some vehicles terrain and BMC's new Iwo Jima playset. Am using toy soldiers, playing solo and the ultimate horror….with the lot unpainted. Unashamed I am having a blast. All these acts of heresy committed while a pile of 15 and 28mm lead await the touch of a brush. Not to mention 150 or so 20mm vietnam figures needing basing. Sounds like 2019 will be a year of the pledge. I humbly ask forgiveness. |

I said something positive about Black Powder. |
TodCreasey | 12 Dec 2018 3:14 p.m. PST |
I used Mongols as Crimean Tatars I started at least 2 projects this year without getting the others to a satisfactory conclusion. I rebased about 50 figures |
Cyrus the Great | 12 Dec 2018 3:57 p.m. PST |
Charles Grant died for somebody's crimes, but not mine. |
14Bore | 12 Dec 2018 5:10 p.m. PST |
I didn't finish my goal of getting all of the 1st Western Army of Borodino. Closer but not there. |
etotheipi | 12 Dec 2018 6:38 p.m. PST |
I made some figures that didn't have plain, flat black bases. I played something other than my own rules. I lied about a few die rolls to my own disadvantage in order to prolong a game against SWMBO. I used WWI penguin figures in a WWII scenario. |
Vis Bellica | 13 Dec 2018 3:19 a.m. PST |
I've had three months off between finishing one job and starting another. I vowed to take some of this time to reduce the size of my lead mountain. Unfortunately, during my time off I got re-interested in another period and, rather than reduce the size of my lead mountain, have actually added to it to such an extent that an avalanche is imminent! And I've committed most of the proxy crimes already described in this thread and the previous two editions. |

Vis Bellica, I trust that you cry yourself to sleep every night having realised the horrendous gaming crimes you have committed. Ezza |

I poured it on against a player who wasn't very good in a tournament because he was extremely annoying. Yes. I was THAT GUY! And in the same circumstances I would do it again. |
Oberlindes Sol LIC | 13 Dec 2018 10:24 a.m. PST |
I decided that my Grenadier Traveller Imperial Marines looked good enough, even though the dry-brushing wasn't exactly what I had intended, and I decided not to strip and repaint them. I bought a monster at a convention flea market and threw it into my game the next day just to surprise the players. It worked spectactularly. I ran a game at a convention without statistics cards for every type of figure. I just winged it. I throw myself on the mercy of the forum and ask for leniency because everyone who played in the games mentioned above appeared to enjoy themselves and said that they didn't want the games to end. |

I have never once apologized for rolling +4 in melee using WRG Ancients. Even when I was fighting disordered MI who I charged impetuously, with 2 handed swords and javelins. I absolutely smirked. And later my impetuous elephants rolled the same! Three times in one game! |
Rudysnelson | 13 Dec 2018 1:05 p.m. PST |
Back in the 1970s, I panted castings without priming them. Never fell for the black wash craze of the 1980s. |
HMS Exeter | 13 Dec 2018 4:58 p.m. PST |
I only waited 2 days before registering for a room at H'Con 2019, thus bogarting god knows how many fellow gamers. I may have a stroke of conscience and release the room at some point,…but probably not. |
Winston Smith | 13 Dec 2018 10:15 p.m. PST |
Don't tell anyone, but I'm currently painting Essex ECW artillerists and general grubby guys as wagon teamsters for AWI wagons. SHHHHH! |
Old Contemptibles | 14 Dec 2018 9:15 a.m. PST |
I ran Plancenoit as an 1870 FPW game and did not tell the players. I have AWI American regiments carrying stars and stripes flags that didn't exist at the time. |

I bought a little paint, but still haven't painted any minis with it, despite actually prepping some of them for that task. Dithered for months over the correct shade(s) of Vallejo Model Color paints for the WWII RAF bombers I have. Lost track of how many man-hours was spent on this, but it was substantial. Still not convinced of the correct shade, despite reading numerous opinions – now also considering the old, standby Humbrol paints. Last Halifax I painted was in the 1970s I suspect, with Hu29 and Hu30. Of course, now I read that the standard Humbrol 29/30 mix isn't correct anymore for the RAF either, since they've changed the green color formulation, so perhaps Hu116 or Hu163 is better than Hu30. One person leans towards Hu163. link Life used to be so much simpler when I was young, and the internet wasn't available to find out stuff like this. I still can't/haven't decided on a basing system for my 1/144th and 1/100th scale troops – more dithering I suspect, coming in the new year. I've played some solo games with unpainted vehicles at home. |

Well I burried 5 hitchhikers on the property. Oh GAMING crimes…. Never mind then. |
