Well, you need 3 ships for every one deployed. So China aiming for 6+ carriers doesn't surprise me.

For years the Chinese have been boasting how they achieved everything through peaceful means, while the US wastes trillions on their military and are seem poised to make the exact same mistake …

I hope so. Then they can spend themselves into oblivion.
