The one thing that appears to be missing for the Indian Wars in 25/28mm is a good selection of US infantry 1870-1880s for the Indian Wars w / Trapdoor Springfield rifles ?

Artisan Designs have a small range that would suit.

Old Glory has a pack of infantry in their Spanish American War range that are armed with trapdoor Springfields.

Not sure about thier button down leggings being period correct for your need.

Foundry had some. I don't know if they still do or not.

The OG figures are the volunteers, but as you say VCarter, the uniform and equipment aren't right for the Indian Wars.

I'm pretty Dixon makes some as well.

There isn't that much and certainly figures that show the changes in infantry uniforms from 1866 to 1900 are not available. I asked one of the manufactures that had an extensive line of cavalry if they plan to do infantry. They thought I was crazy and said just use ACW figures. Well that might work in 1866 but not much beyond. Not a very satisfying answer.

Actually the ACW infantry figures probably work ok thru about 1870 unless you can tell that the rifles have changed from the muzzle-loading Springfields from the Allyn converstions that changed them to into breech-loaders.

Between Artizan Designs and Foundry I'd say this search is over.
