The one thing that appears to be missing for the Indian Wars in 25/28mm is a good selection of US infantry 1870-1880s for the Indian Wars w / Trapdoor Springfield rifles ? |

Old Glory has a pack of infantry in their Spanish American War range that are armed with trapdoor Springfields. Not sure about thier button down leggings being period correct for your need. |

The OG figures are the volunteers, but as you say VCarter, the uniform and equipment aren't right for the Indian Wars. |

There isn't that much and certainly figures that show the changes in infantry uniforms from 1866 to 1900 are not available. I asked one of the manufactures that had an extensive line of cavalry if they plan to do infantry. They thought I was crazy and said just use ACW figures. Well that might work in 1866 but not much beyond. Not a very satisfying answer. |

Actually the ACW infantry figures probably work ok thru about 1870 unless you can tell that the rifles have changed from the muzzle-loading Springfields from the Allyn converstions that changed them to into breech-loaders. |

Between Artizan Designs and Foundry I'd say this search is over. |
