Asked in a very friendly spirited way and purely voluntary. I feel like everyone in these threads knows everyone else and what rules they authored. Except I dont know who is who from their "handles" lol. I'd love to know "who wrote what" because I'd like to check out some of their rules! So if you agree please tell us what you wrote … I'll start. Cheers! Combat Action Command 6mm to 15mm WWII Skirmish Action 15mm to 28mm WWII America's Olde West 15mm to 28mm Wild West Non published but run at many Cons: NAM RPG (Role Playing Game) 15mm to 28mm WWII SMG (Skirmish Miniature Game) 15mm to 28mm Armored Action Command (under develoment) 6mm WWII Corps Level Combat Cheers! |

We've all "written" our own rules. Me? I've stood on the shoulders of giants. That means that I stole a lot of good ideas. I crashed and burned trying to "write" a Trojan War supplement for a set of rules I'm sure you may have heard of. Not the least of my difficulties was the fact that I had not really read the Iliad all the way through. Only the good parts. My own natural laziness didn't help. I'm currently working on an American Revolution adaptation of The Sword and the Flame. The project is humming along, I'm taking notes and playing some good games. I'll be having the Pennsylvania Associators squaring off against the Queen's Rangers next week. |

Probably my most enjoyable home-mod has been to take the Muskets & Tomahawks rules and adapt them for the ACW, and the Tank On Tank board game and bring this to 3D and w/greater granularity for miniatures play. Something I've observed in recent years, is the greater receptiveness of gamers to playing a set of previously-published rules (even if they've been highly adapted), over trying new rule sets outright – this behavior decidedly characteristic of the group of grey grogs I usually game with. Recognizing this, I've been mostly adapting and improving existing rules sets lately, because of their existing/established reputation, over creating new ones of my own (well, at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it)! |

Coastal Command, 1985, released by Xeno games. About MGB/PT and small boat action in WW2. We revised it for use with hex maps in 2010. Fire Ogon Feur, WW2 mass tank one to one combat rules., 1984. One of my favorite. Fast play. Units were large scale in these two. More suitable for a board game. Stars, Eagle and Marshall Batons, was a unit equals Brigade or Battalion for WW2 Units were companies in Oak leaves and crowns. That is all I remember for WW2. Other eras were covered in other rules. |

Grav Armor supplement for FUBAR, which can be used to play with the Topgun range of Grav Tanks, as well as those from GZG, and Critical Mass. The ratings system is simple enough that you can easily develop your own ratings for vehicles from other worlds and manufacturers too. TMP link It's a one-page (front and back) set of rules designed for quick play. You can find them in the files section of the Forge of War Yahoo Group, under the file heading, FUBAR, here: link The other rules are "Top Secret" for now……. |

Hi Phil, Matter of fact, I used youplay.it a few years ago to get the "correct" aircraft charts from, for doing expansion cards to play with the Stratelibri version. I rendered the aircraft artwork to match the paint schemes of my miniatures, like these -
I still like what I think I remember was version 4 from GDW best (with the damage chits)….we always had so much fun pulling those from the black "bag of death"! :))) |

I came up with Regimental Fire & Fury variant for Napoleonics. Plus took the old board game Panzer Leader & came up with a mini game called Blitzing Panzers. Really wasn't very close to Panzer Leader by the time it was complete. |

"The Herero War", co-authored with Eric Alvarado. Published 2014. The book consists of historical rules and scenarios, derived from original German sources, on the Herero War of 1904. This war was fought in the colony of German South-West Africa (present-day Namibia).
I was attracted to the topic because the Hereros were sophisticated native fighters. The Hereros did not fight as a stereotypical mob of natives charging forward. They fought as riflemen in open-order. The Hereros were also masters of ambush tactics and concealment – using smokeless powder to remain unseen. They would fight from the bush, or would build trench fortifications and hillside boulder fighting-positions. These boulder fighting-positions and thorn bushes that regularly concealed the Hereros cut visibility to 50 meters or less, thus negating the long-range effectiveness of German machine guns and cannon. |

Author – Fight Your Own Battles & Fight Your Own Wars – notsomuch rules as mechanisms to play solo WW2 games. Originally based on Rapid Fire (up to FYOB v5). March 2019, FYOB is re-written to fit with Heroes All – written by me as well. Have just spent the evening reading the thread on "Realism" in wargames and concluded that Heroes All and FYOB are just "games", nothing more!! fightyourownbattles.co.uk |
