Can anyone tell me if Britannia's vehicle range are 1/72 or 1/76? I'd actually rather the latter and thought I'd best try and find out before spending cash.

Probably the worst possible answer for a choosy customer! grin

Mine fit well with 1/72.

What I think he meant was, some models in the range are 1/72 while others are 1/76.

Yes, the Bren carrier for example works very well with the Airfix one other than the tracks which beef it up.

The majority of my models are Milicast, MMS and SHQ which are all 1/76 and they work well with them in the majority of cases. The trick is to keep your different Panzer IIIs for example with the same manufacturer in the same unit, if that makes sense

Anything I have bought are 1/72. Email Grubby and ask which ones arec1/76, I would venture to guess not many.

No worries Major B (and Shaun) – I got Shaun's point, I meant it was the worst answer because I wouldn't know which scale the particular models I'm interested in would be!

I was really wondering if the Britannia Matilda would fit with my Airfix and EWM ones which are 1/76. I'll have to have a look at the grubby tanks stall at the next show I'm at.

Incidentally, Shaun, if you were to make a replacement turret for Airfix's Sherman as you have with the Grant you'd be doing mankind a great service.

I agree Shaun, the Airfix turret needs a redo.

The Britannia Matilda is larger than Airfix / EWM.

Thanks, Joes Shop!

hi chaps
ref the airfix sherman turret, without reworking the hull a new better sized turret would not work and i cannot see too many gamers wanting to rework the hull just to have a slightly bigger turret when there are so many shermans out there, i doubt we would sell many in reality.
i know the brittania opel bus is 1/76th as it used to be the archer models one and he made things in 1/76th.
thanks
shaun

some are clearly 1/72 , such as the US dodge truck and M24 chafee which are almost exactly the same size as the hasegawa 1/72 kits .

empecinado06 Dec 2018 9:05 a.m. PST

The M3 half-track series are the same size as the Hasegawa too
