Video link is queued up on an intriguing comparison of tank production. From a 2013 conference, I don't recall seeing this go by here before: YouTube link |

Useful presentation. I suppose I was loosely aware of much of it, but seeing all the comparative information in one place was interesting. |

Plus the Germans had taken the French and Czech factories. Occupying everything from Normandy to the Ukraine you'd think they could have managed more output. Interesting. |

I've posted it here a couple of times. The poor output had less to do with the number of factories than with the fact that they were basically hand crafting each vehicle. |

I don't have time to study the video but were the figures produced relevant to just 'tanks' as opposed to other 'armoured fighting vehicles'? |

Excellent presentation. Thanks for posting. Jim, looks like just tanks. |

Just tanks, though the comparative analysis of production strategies would apply equally across the AFV spectrum. |

Parshall (the presenter) mentions on a couple occasions that he is tracking AFV production. Reference is made to SP gun chassis, in the contexts of both Russian production efficiency and German production inefficiency. The summary numbers presented do seem to indicate that tank-like vehicles, AFVs on tank chassis with AT guns, are in the count. Otherwise the numbers don't match well to what I've seen other places. But there is no explicit accounting provided of which vehicles specifically are built in which numbers. So we don't know from what was said if StuGs and SUs are included, but Priests and Wespes are not, or Universal Carriers are while half-tracks are not. -Mark (aka: Mk 1) |

Is that the 'Shattered Sword' Jonathan Parshall? |
