1985 It was a Best Painted Army in a WRG Ancients tournament. So, not technically an entry because all players qualified. I did enter Zulus specifically in 1982. Those won. |

40 years ago – my mate & I (we were both 16); his entry went into the under-16's, my went into the adults. He won, & surprise, surprise, I didn't. I leave it to the professionals these days, I'm just a journeyman amateur |

Twenty-five years ago (1993). I entered my 15mm Battle Honours French Napoleonic six-horse artillery limber, team, and gun in the historical category during a small convention at the University of Hawaii. I won. Mine was the only entry in the historical category. There were, however, some beautifully-painted Space Marines and Battle Tech mech warriors competing that day! |

We run one every year, just in case any 10mm gamers fancy entering! We usually get around 150-200 entries with some fantastic work on show: link

A number of years ago. I won the category of historical fantasy with my Eureka teddy bear pirates, labeled Bearatarians. To be honest, it was the only entry in the category, but I did take sixth place over all. |

At a gaming convention, about 25+ yrs. ago; the figures were loaned to a friend for a participation game and he entered them in the comp since I was unable to attend-- took a 1st for some Foundry WWI. The next year did the same-- took 2nd for some RAFM FIW, while my friend took 1st for his woodland Indians. More recently have scored at some plastic modeling contests. E.g., link link |

I would have to say 39 years. Like Winston Smith, I didn't enter a painting contest explicitly, but it was part of the WRG Ancients tournament back in 1979 or 1980. I won for a Mike's Models Ptolemaic Egyptian Army and the prize was more Mike's Models Ancients -- I chose Indians. |
