Very nice additions. The top figures with axe would good for Royal Guard. Nice also to see bald head skirmish types. |

I am not usually keen on mounted scouts for Chariot period but these do look very good. |

Mark, I have to say I had no idea of your existence. Just been to your site, looking at your ancients. I have sworn not to get into any new eras. But I may have to make an exception for your Sumerians and NKE. Very nice work. |

I have just finished a nice 12 man unit for Biblical Rampant rules. Went back to tried and tested Army Painter dip (I brush on)….the Sumerians came up very well. Great to paint. They remind me of North Star Kadesh (? Salah sculpts) sculpts in how they have come up with dip method. Similar size and heft I think. Think I should have kept a hold of North Star Egyptians. Anyway I appreciate Sumerians are not top of many lists but seeing these in the flesh may change some opinions. There are lots of great Sumerian 28mm sculpts around but these now are my top choice. Photo up very soon. |

Actually seeking some gaming inspiration at the moment and these could be it. They look very ‘clean' to paint. Are the kilts made of wool and if so would they most likely be natural or dyed or perhaps a mixture? Love the scouts…I keep thinking of a scout spotting the enemy and then finding his mount had decided it didn't want to move anymore! |

Shootmenow..the kilts woollen fleece on outside. Standard white but could be any colour of sheep. The scouts are really nice models. |

Thanks Colin. I'm really impressed with these figures. I was just wondering whether there is any evidence for the kilts being dyed? Just looking at a bit of variety as there's a lot of flesh there…oooh matron! :-) |

Sorry Colin, forgot to ask something else. What do you Class the battle carts as for Biblical Rampant? Only played the rules twice a couple of years back but remember enjoying them. Thanks for any help. |

I would stick with white fleece. But nothing to stop adding in a few brown or black fleece for variety. The cord at top of kilts could be bright coloured and would stand out. The kilts could be dyed I suppose but would look odd mabey. Colour can added by shields. Common to see red but blue and greens could be done too. I suppose shields in each unit could be different colooits. Have not tried that. I count the carts as heavy chariots. Although not near as heavy as an Assyrian chariot it may have seemed so in its time. |
