I started a 15mm Genestealer Cult using some Games Workshop Familiar, Rebel Miniatures Sahadeen and a Kremlin Magus. The vehicle is from Matchbox.

Oh how I wish Onslaugh would make its 6mm range in 15mm!

Skullhamma29 Nov 2018 3:27 a.m. PST

I second that, Blacksmith!

Stryderg29 Nov 2018 7:01 a.m. PST

That's nice! The vehicle looks slightly big for the minis, but enough to mention. So, um, forget I mentioned it, please.
Seriously though, I like the paint jobs and the mix-n-match selection, gives it a cult-ish feel.

Skullhamma29 Nov 2018 7:09 a.m. PST

No worries, Stryderg – I can see what you mean. The head of the Magus looks slightly big compared to those of the other figs, but definetly enough to mention. That's the price you have to pay for mixing miniatures in 15mm. :)

vicmagpa129 Nov 2018 12:39 p.m. PST

very impressive mix. love the purple effect!

PzGeneral29 Nov 2018 1:39 p.m. PST

The Magus is a Brainiac….they all have big heads! grin

BaldLea29 Nov 2018 2:01 p.m. PST

Brilliant.

Great work – I think it all comes together well, and the Magus is supposed to be a big brain!

Twoball Cane29 Nov 2018 7:59 p.m. PST

Oh wow….that looks great. Rebel minis should post that pic of the sahadeen.

The fellas on FB 15mm sci-fi would like to see you post it there too.

Twilight Samurai29 Nov 2018 8:00 p.m. PST

Of course it's not all about the size, it's how you use it!

Skullhamma30 Nov 2018 9:57 a.m. PST

Thanks to all of you, this is really great feedback!

@Twoball Cane: I have reasons for not mixing Facebook with my wargaming hobbies. But if somebody wants to link my entry with the 15mm Sci Fi group, I have no problem with that. :)

Sweet beans!

I think a Humveeësque vehicle size is fine for Cultists.

ROUWetPatchBehindTheSofa01 Dec 2018 3:36 a.m. PST

Really nice and the hybrids are great. Personally I would have gone for the classic black limo, but still really nice piece – and it has to big enough to fit Stealers in!

I dread to imagine how much stealer familiars cost (I assume they are OOP) – not that you need that many for a cult army.

Gives me a bit of impetuous to get on with own 15mm 40k projects.

Skullhamma01 Dec 2018 3:57 a.m. PST

Allready having that transport ride won't stop me from adding a limo as well, I fear. The Stealer familiars aren't THAT expensive. If you have enough patience, you may buy three for about 6,50 to 8 pounds. Don't go with the crazy guys that want 25 or even more!

Grimmnar01 Dec 2018 10:38 p.m. PST

Yhe vehicle 8snt too big. It us that of a SWAT vehicle. They are supposed to be big. In this case, an armored car. Ever see the different types of armored cars? They are huge.
As for the head size of the Magus. I agree, they all have big heads. He looks fine.
Love this project. I want to see more.
As for the limo, MB/HW just released a Cruella DeVille car. Might work for you.

@Grimm: Awesome find! It's perfectly over the top, just like it needs to be. I can allready see the genestealer icon in that round ornament thing! And the best thing: It's available and dirt cheap even here in Germany.

Thanks a lot!

As an alternative to the OOP familiars: link

Depends how close to the originals you'd like to get, of course…

Twoball Cane02 Dec 2018 9:58 p.m. PST

I can appreciate that. Those sahadeen you did imho are better than the ones on the store.

Skullhamma05 Dec 2018 1:25 p.m. PST

I added the Patriarch and a new vehicle:

Awesome! I tried this some years ago and we even had some great games against my buddy‘s 15mm Space Marines. 15mm is the scale 40k was made for. Suddenly normal dining tables become vast battlefields and the kids‘ department of every supermarket becomes a model store (matchbox & hot wheels cars are great).

Here is my own humble attempt. It's not as well painted, though. But I had a commissioned 15mm patriarch! :)

Very nice stuff all around now im extremely tempted to start collecting yet another small 15mm army… but I guess on the bright side I already have the throned Patriarch from Slap miniatures and several 40k Genestealer familiars and the bald headed Magnus.I think I will need some pointy hat cultists and a couple of classic hot rods.

Gunner Dunbar27 Jul 2019 7:07 a.m. PST

Pretty cool, 1 of the armies on my 15mm 40k to do list.
