So, my "lead" pile is also a plastic pile. But it's also a cardboard pile. And a few other things. Just like buying minis that I need to paint, I "acquire" things like boxes that are piled up to be used for terrain in the future. (Sometimes the boxes even come with minis in them!)

So I make a piece with boxes – I get them out of "storage" and cut them up, then glue them back together and add some greeblies to make castle walls.

[INTERLUDE] Four years ago I bought this quaint little farm house. 100+ years old, built overtop of the old farmhouse (remnants of the dormers in the attic), built overtop of the old settler's cabin (remnants in the walls). So quaint means no corners are square, plumb, or level – every one is unique. Also, it has a tin roof. But … you can absolutely not hear rain on it. No how. No way. [END INTERLUDE]

Do you see where these two stories are coming together? I sealed the walls and left them outside to dry. Then the rain started and completely destroyed them.

So, the important thing is do I get credit for progress toward The Pledge(TM)? I mean, I did get pieces out of storage and I did work on them …

You get no completion credit for completely destroyed terrain--unless you can use it for ruins? But is The Pledge based on having more stuff fit to wargame or on having less stuff in the pile? Your call. But it it's having less stuff in the pile, you have to take a penalty when the pile grows.

Me? I give myself credit for reducing the pile of stuff I can't play with. Selling it off counts. So does finishing up enough for a game. The only penalty is from buying stuff faster than I can finish it.

Reducing the pile counts for me, usually by selling. But I guess destroying stuff would also remove it from the pile.

If you have completed the terrain you get credit for that. If you give/throw something away that's not completed you get credit for that. If someone gives you unpainted figures it goes against the bought count.

etotheipi to me this was a plus for completion in The Pledge but you can only count it once.

I was wondering about the gift of figures counting as additions. December is going to be a bad month.

My Christmas ask, since the kids have been in high school (not both are well beyond college) has been a couple family painting sessions during the holiday breaky together time.

DOM's this year is to play the Battle of Salamis in the War Galley game that I haven't punched after purchasing years ago!

Definitely counts – stuff was in the pile that is no longer in the pile…
