Thanks for all your comments I am glad you liked the battle report, it was a fun game, it had some real exciting / nail biting moments, but in the end the Confederates managed to get a good victory.
The rules, as I said are a work in progress, although having said that they are playable now and the basic rules are just about done.
They are on a similar level to my spaceship combat rules, in that they can be picked up very quickly, two of the players had never played before, and two had only played once before, all had the basic rules sorted by the end of the second turn, only referring to the critical hit table during the game.
And like my other rules these will consist of a basic set which you could use for any intro games, but still have enough content to make them interesting and give a good game, but then there will be ( and this is what I am still writing ) an advanced section which will include all the "extras" and these can be added as and when required.
The rules use a very simple D20 system, weapons / range / damage / repairs etc. etc. all the ships have their own cards which contain everything that you need to run the ships in the games, like speed / guns / hull points etc. they have been designed so that they fit inside normal ccg card sleeves so that you can use dry wipe markers to keep track of everything during the game.
I will keep posting battle reports / playtests and hopefully I will manage to get the rules finished soon… but often real life gets in the way.
