They are ok. The detail is great but the first horse has clearly been shot as he is headed down. Oddly enough the most realistic pose is the horse that is fighting the bit and gone U-necked (he might also be terrified but is still quite forward). Otherwise the posing is the horse equivalent of the Wargames Factory vikings- a little unnatural. The best posed galloping horses I have seen are EBob's (now out of print) Mongols. Perry's medieval plastic horses are great (their metal horses are hit and miss) as are Warlord's ECW mounts (on both accounts with respect to plastic and metal) though some of the bridle detail is obscured on their plastic horses. |

Poses are OK, but the heads look a little small if you compare them to photos of real horses. |

These are Ebob horses!!!! But not as nice as his Mongolian ponies.;) However, on reading my first post it does seem a bit overly critical. In fact the more I look at the horse with the inverted neck the more I like it- it tells a little story there. Despite the horses recalcitrance the rider is getting a nice extended trot. I have no problem with the proportions of the animals, and as I said the detail is great; just a couple of the sculpts have weight distribution and leg placement issues. |

ECW riders would look a bit silly on Mongolian ponies. Elephants would look good though. ; ) As the heading from Tango is best ECW horses? Anyway thanks for clarifying/rectifying your comments. Cheers Paul |

I like the Warlord plastic horses. Available as separate sprues as well as in their box sets. They are a good size for a proper cavalry horse, as well as very nice sculpts. I find other ranges a bit small. For smaller ‘nags' I like the Perry's from their ECW metal range. |
