Battlefront releases two "army" boxes in 15mm for the Germans and the Soviets. But these two armies are unplayable containing only tanks and artillery.

They are only meant to be starter boxes (that's why the rule book is in there at a guess) , that you add stuff to .

Odd concept of a starter box if you can't play a game with the stuff straight out of the box, unless it is starter as in starting you spending more money on additional models! :-)

Yep that's what's its about ,spending money .

At a guess it would be a small number of pts for the stuff in the boxes ?

I can't see where these sets are described as starter boxes.

@deephorse what would call it when compared to the sets they used to do ?

Over the years BF's boxed forces have been getting smaller .

deephorse24 Nov 2018 2:16 p.m. PST

So it's not a starter box then?

Col Piron24 Nov 2018 2:56 p.m. PST

Depends on what you think a "starter box" is , as you can't play a 100 pts game with either of the 2 new box sets ?

I prefer the old army box sets. It contained everything you needed without worrying on about the organisation as it was done all for you. The only advantage of these modern sets is that they also contain the rulebook and a get you started pamphlet.

If you combine the pamphlet with the rulesbook in the old style sets , then your talking !
