I use 1.75L Really Useful Boxes, lined with self adhesive magnetic sheets for mine. The R.U.B.s are a bit high for regular 15mm figures, but that leaves room for the upraised spears, and the occasional big fella. |

I use the flat black boxes from Phil Spera of Phil's Baggage Train. There are inserts when you really want to separate units and without the inserts, I can fit about 200-250 stands in each box. They are great for sorting 15mm armies. |

The Plano people have done well by me, and there are some other firms like Shimano of similar transparent plastic boxes with hinged lids, about 9"x14"x2". The deeper Plano boxes are helpful for upright pikes and lances, and the standard width and length goes three abreast in a footlocker. (I have a policy that when the troops of both sides in 15mm fill a footlocker, the army is done.) Critical thing is to shop around a bit to make sure the internal dividers on the boxes match with your basing. Three rows works for 1" frontages, two to a row, while four rows gives you your most efficient storage for 3/4", 1 1/2" or 40mm. |

I use the Sterilite large clip box containers for my 15mm armies. See: link They're 14x11 x 3.25 high, with a bottom that is perfect size for 8.5x11 magnetic sheets you can also buy in bulk from Ebay. They stack three high in a cardboard bankers box for easy transport or storage and can be displayed stacked on shelves. The clear plastic lets you see what's in the box. |

Apologies can't tell where you are in the world. If you are UK based there are a couple of really good options: Sally 4th make their figure chests, MDF boxes, 35mm box is good for infantry, 52 for cavalry and the 70 pikeman. Then if course there are Really Useful Boxes. Sally 4th and Commission Figurines make tray inserts which fit the 4l and 9l boxes. |

A4 file boxes. Three quid each from Wilko. Just cut away the plastic retaining spring. |

I use plano boxes or the inexpensive craft boxes like they have at A C Moore. |

I use the Stanley Sortmaster for most all my figures. They come in different sizes. You can find them on amazon or in hardware stores. They have handles and stack nicely in my closet for storage. |

In 15mm, I use multi-compartment hardware or fishing tackle boxes to store things before they hit the painting table. Lowe's or Walmart or a similar store has them for $4 USD-6 each, but when you get one you like, buy several copies, as stock and manufacturers change all the time and I like the symmetry and stackability of having the same brand. (Really Useful boxes are great too, but a bit expensive, in comparison.) I label the figures by compartment in each box, one per period or army, with 1x1 inch Avery labels affixed to the dividers or walls, and change these as needed. For 6mm and sometimes 15mm, I use UniKeep brand snap-shut binders for the same purpose, and these are excellent, when stored flat, especially when lined with magnetic sheet, which can hold bases of unpainted figures or vehicles in the order in which you planned your units. Here is the web site address, unikeep.com/hobby-kits/. Great company, and cheap when bought in bulk. For painted and mounted stuff, in all scales, I bought two old, WWII-era cabinets of map drawers, in drab green, from a surplus sale some years ago. The bones were good, the painting harsh. So, I brought these to a sandblasting shop and had them powder coated in flat white. I stacked them when I got them home. Sounds expensive, but wasn't: purchase price was $50 USD each, with an additional $100 USD each for the coating and delivery, making it $300 USD in total for a lifetime of storage space. For in-process stuff, I use two Ikea Kvissle letter trays on my desk, link for $20 USD each. They are the perfect height for based and mounted 15mm figures, including cavalry. Have not yet done pikes!! Hope this is helpful. Kind regards. |
