I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks – I managed to paint tartan and not screw it up too bad! I used one web page tutorial in particular.

And thanks for the tutorial. One of my friends (who is just learning to paint) has chosen to play the only Infinity faction that require him to paint tartan, so I'm thankful for anything that might ease his journey.

@Gokiburi – I started out off with the simple design – the red and black one – but using the techniques from the tutorial. I moved up to the more complex after feeling comfortable with the approach.

About a zillion years ago (late 70s?) I remember falling for what I assume was an April Fools joke in one of the hobby magazines:
Tartan Paints!

Just paint it on and perfect tartans every time.

I was a wee bit gullible back then
