Nope, did Physics & Electronics BSc but possibly spent more time reading history than textbooks.

As it turns out, a good deal of what I learned back then in 68-72 is now history anyway !!!

Wow! I find myself in the presence of Gods. Well done gentlemen/ gentlewomen, sincerely, you all have my utmost respect, its a privilege to converse with such an educated body.

I visit TMP everyday because I find myself stimulated and educated by you all. I am disappointed at the level of angry conflict that occasionally intrudes but generally I glory in the discussion and exchange of knowledge.

"Wow! I find myself in the presence of Gods. Well done gentlemen/ gentlewomen, sincerely, you all have my utmost respect, it's a privilege to converse with such an educated body."

Ah, if only it were so! I've known well-informed people with barely a high school diploma, and people with BA's and more who were barely literate. What a degree will do is let you be wrong with confidence and authority.

Never trust the credentials. Trust the track record, and in a pinch verify the sourcing.

Do you have a degree in history?

No.

Did your college studies involve history?

Yes. All my social science electives in engineering were history courses.

--- BREAK ---

DOM graduated summa cum laude in Electrical Engineering. Oh, yes … she also graduated summa cum laude in History at the same time.

khanscom17 Nov 2018 7:59 p.m. PST

A year of European History was required; took a year of Military History for fun. Nice to see Clark Reynolds using model ships to illustrate fleet formations in WWII. All of this totally unrelated to the degree.

Kevin C17 Nov 2018 8:19 p.m. PST

I earned a BA, MA, and PhD in history. Also I serve as a Professor of History at a university and most of those with whom I game are other faculty members (though most are not historians) and former students of mine.

BA history York College of PA
MA history Millersville University

PhD program for three years at Lehigh University. Dropped out due to expense, travel time, and family obligations.

I've been teaching as an adjunct professor for going on 15 years and I love it. Being in the classroom is like home. I love lecturing and story telling and getting an engaging discussion going. My favorite classes are Nazi Germany and US history I. I teach a WWII Military History course when they offer it which is really fun.

Only to the extent that my English studies necessarily involved a great deal of literature from historical periods reaching back to earliest days of the English language, so into the "Dark Ages," as it were. I did also study the history of the English language, and took courses in English history.
My BA is in English, obviously.
