As soon as I get figures painted…
And in no particular order.

Gloucester Point. All those 28mm Hussars!

Chelsea Creek. Just the finishing touches on some green coat red facings figures who up to this point thought they were Loyalists. Hey! We're the 1st New Hampshire! A few sailors and boats. Oh, Marines.

Lord Dunmore's Ethiopians burn down Mr Randolph's cotton plantation.

Spencer's Ordinary. That's a lot of Queen's Rangers.

Kings Mountain. Hah. I thought I had enough militia. Hah!

2nd Trenton, or Assunpink.

Long Island
White Plains
Brandywine
Germantown

But I need to do a LOT more painting.

I've done Gloucester Point and Spencer's Ordinary. Fun games, but Gloucester Point can end fast if one side's horsemen, or the other's, rout on a bad dice roll.

Chew House at Germantown. I'm working on the house now.

Rich Bliss16 Nov 2018 4:41 p.m. PST

Saratoga first. When that's done, I'll take a look at Brandywine.

Spooner616 Nov 2018 5:13 p.m. PST

My list would look a lot like 22ndFoot. I would add Lexington/Concord and Bunker Hill to that list. Not that they are great battles, but rather ones that I feel I should do at some point.

Done most of the larger battles and a few of the smaller

Bradywine – the full area with some fog of war is the next one on the list to do in 15mm

Harlem Heights
Pell's Point
White Plains
1st and 2nd Trenton

Refight the Cowpens/Guilford Courthouse campaign

If I can get the French cavalry painted Gloucester point would be exciting and fun.

The what-if it hadn't rained on the day Battle of the Clouds scenario from the October 2006 issue of Miniature Wargames. The scenario is set in September 1777 and just a few days after Brandywine with Washington and Howe again clashing. Historically following some initial encounters and skirmishes ahead of the main event, rain had started to pour down soaking not only the troops but also their powder. Low clouds combined with the driving rain obscured the field allowing Washington to retreat, keeping his supply line protected. But Philadelphia was open to the British. The scenario looks at what might have happened if the rain held off all day or it can also be played with the arrival of the rain being diced for each turn.

I need to paint up Volunteers of Ireland for some Southern battles.

I game alot of M&T games, so I'm looking to do Meig's Raid.
I need more boats to burn in the harbor, and am still looking for a ways to balance the game so the Brits have a chance.
The actual raid was a complete walkover for the Patriots.

Thoughts? Hint, hint…

I mean to game Saratoga and Monmouth someday. Not to belabor a common point, but I need to paint a lot of miniatures for those. grin

After I did a scaled back version of the Battle of White Marsh (a "what if" to prove that Howe was right not to engage), I decided it would be fun to recreate the entire Philadelphia campaign as a set of linked scenarios – including Brandywine, Germantown, the Battle Above the Clouds, maybe a few other what-if and almost-happened, etc.

I've also thought to apply this approach to other small campaigns. The brief campaign for New York is delightfully self-contained already, and I am fascinated by the idea of depicting the countryside that now lies under one of the world's most famous megacities. I think a lot of the mini-campaigns in the South would work nicely as serial encounters too.

Springfield.

Foraging War post Trenton/Princeton

Winston Smith18 Nov 2018 7:38 p.m. PST

We've done Springfield. And of course the Wyoming Massacre.

As for the Foraging War, as soon as I get off my lazy butt and finish the Associators, and the horde of militia cavalry, it's up there.
My main problem is the all too familiar "Oooh! Shiny!" Syndrome.

I'm sure nobody here has any idea what you're talking about.

All of them.

"Lord Dunmore's Ethiopians burn down Mr Randolph's cotton plantation."

Oh! This gives me too many ideas for a scenario!

Old Contemptibles19 Nov 2018 11:04 a.m. PST

Up above I said all of them. In more detail; I am also going to redo the Southern and Saratoga Campaigns. Well, I am going to start over in order from Lexington right thru Yorktown and a couple of hypotheticals and/or what ifs thrown in. Here are the major battles I still need to do. But there are a whole host of smaller battles I will also do.

Germantown
Brandywine
Monmouth
Spencer's Ordinary
King's Mountain
Yorktown

Virginia Tory23 Nov 2018 8:02 p.m. PST

I always wonder how you'd do King's Mountain. A butt-ton of skirmishers v. the Loyalists.

Normal Guy Supporting Member of TMP23 Nov 2018 10:43 p.m. PST

I don't discriminate, but the bulk of my AWI time is spent on the Southern Theatre. Fascinating part of the way that is overlooked by too many.

Old Contemptibles26 Nov 2018 3:21 p.m. PST

I started out with the Southern Campaign. I don't think it is overlooked at all. I think it is the other way around. Southern theater gets all the attention. When I am at a convention and someone is doing a AWI game. It's a safe bet it is Guilford Court House. That includes me.
