No, but I have an amazing mentor in Tony Runkee. I've never met such an accomplished painter who was so willing to provide advice and encouragement. I consider myself extremely fortunate.

I prefer to lead by example :)

A friend showed me a Mage Knight figure he had spent 12 hours repainting…

I pulled out one of my 10-minute painted figures (it had been block painted in an assembly line fashion, with others like it), and Dip'ed, and he got mad and stomped off. My 10-minute paint job + The Dip, was a little bit better than his 12-hour effort. I was not trying to insult him, I just wanted him to see what could be achieved in a fraction of the time he had spent. It did not end well. Cheers!

I'm not a mentor.
I don't think that anyone really wants to learn how to be lazy, slow and easily distracted.

I've often answered people's online questions, and done some "how to" posts, but I don't know any other hobbiests in my area, but would be willing to help out a beginner if I knew one.

I would like to think so, I've always answered questions when asked, and even done a few tutorials in my time.

I'm not the best painter out there, but I've recently sort of fallen into the role of painting mentor for one of my friends. We've been having painting days where he comes over and we paint together.
