Compiled by the Soviet Military intelligence in 1938 and issued to the Soviet Army High Command

"This album was compiled by the Soviet military intelligence in 1938 and issued to the Soviet Army High Command. Kirill Meretzkov (Leningrad Military District Commander in 1939-40). "For example, we have the Album of enemy's fortified positions and it was the most valuable source we used for the operational planning. I always kept it on my table, on the left side." (Original was found in the Leningrad Military District archive)….."
