FOlks,

I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to the Fall-In Staff especially Dan Murawski, the convention director.

My son and I had preregistered two weeks prior to the con for a one day Saturday pass. On Thursday before we were to go to the con, my son received a call from a premier soccer team in Allentown. They wanted him to walk-on with the team on Saturday at 1:00 pm. With travel time to the con after the try out, we would not get to the con until after the registration desk closed at 4:00pm, and thus, would have to skip the con. We consoled ourselves with the knowledge that there will be other cons in the future. When I emailed the staff with our dilemma, Dan stepped in and said to contact him when we arrived and would have our passes for us.

We did arrive but at 5:15 pm. Nonetheless, Dan and his staff opened up the reg for us, and got us our bags of swag. You guys really made our day. Suffice it to say that my son can't wait for the next convention (and neither can I).

Too all convention staff members out there, you, as volunteers, do not often get the recognition you deserve. Thank you.

Paul Bernardino

+1 to King30's comments.

Great job by all the convention staff at Fall In this year.

Definitely an excellent job by Dan and his staff. I also want to specifically point out Events Coordinator Bill White who was extremely helpful in enabling our Lard America group get its games located together even after the construction in Distlefink eliminated the area we had been scheduled in. On short notice, Dan and Bill worked to get all our games moved to Vista Windows so we were able to maintain a common location.

Thank you and all the HMGS staff for running a great convention under trying circumstances.

Another Thank You to the Con staff, who did a wonderful job, even after the Host pitched a couple of curve balls.

The staff did a great job. That said,HMGS needs to seriously consider moving Cold Wars. Even though it has issues of its own, I'd suggest a serious look the the Ike. A couple of people took some serious spills this weekend while walking to the dealer hall. I believe an ambulance was called for one person. Add snow and ice to that equation and things have moved into possible legal action. HMGS should not take on such a risk. This weekend proved that outside food vendors can meet our needs. Hire a limousine shuttle bus for the weekend to make runs between the hotel and All Star complex. Or, find another venue. I don't care. But safety first either way. Enough is enough.

The staff was wonderful. The check-in was first rate and the guys staffing the GM Help desk were the best.

I hate to say it, but I agree… I always got an indifferent vibe from the Ike but I'd rather have Cold Wars there, warts and all, then put up with the Host again. They are making it too damned hard.

Kudos to all the convention staff and the gamesmasters as well. I got in 5 great games over two days. And the food vendor was very good.

If I remember correctly, the Ike began raising the costs of Fall-In AND charging more for the sports complex, (which held the tournaments and the vendor hall). Basically, they priced themselves out of the market. Interesting to see if that has changed. I think it's worth a look.
