On a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high), how would you rate the film based on Dalton Trumbo's anti-war novel, Johnny Got His Gun?

JimSelzer09 Nov 2018 5:58 p.m. PST

zero (never saw it)

Never saw it. See no reason to.
And before some Bleeped text starts accusing me of having a closed mind, I have a limited amount of time to spend watching movies that don't appeal to me. I'd rather watch Casino or Singing in the Rain.

Same same as WS.

Hit the nail on the head and drove it home.

If I were to watch a WWI movie, it would be Paths of Glory or The Blue Max.

8-- gut-wrenching; never give up on a buddy/friend.

You can watch the Mettalica video "One" in less than 8 minutes and get the jist of it.

I agree with Vcarter totally

besides its not a WW1 movie but an anti war movie set in that war much as MASH is not a Korean War movie but as above

Always nice to get recommendations. Thank you. But that is what they are, recommendations and not essential life experiences.

Very much so … I agree.

I like The Lost Battalion, made about 20 years ago … imdb.com/title/tt0287535

There are some other recommendations there too …

I'll add Gallipoli and even The Water Deviner …
