Someone passed along this interesting news item today:

…The former office of local lawyer Bill Armintrout at 120 Governor Trimble Place in Hillsboro has fallen into disrepair and is full of asbestos, according to Safety and Service Director Mel McKenzie, and the demolition is planned for mid-April…

No, this is not me, this is another Bill Armintrout! grin William is a common name in my family, although in my case, I was named for my maternal great-grandfather, William Daniel.

I don't know this particular Bill Armintrout, but our ancestor George Armintrout moved from Virginia to Ohio just before the Civil War, and many of his children stayed in Ohio. He spelled the name 'Armintrout', while the Virginia branch of the family spelled it 'Armentrout'.

My great-grandfather Henry Armintrout (a Civil War veteran) moved to Iowa, leading to the prolific Iowa branch of my family.

I wonder how many dice were lost in the debris of that infamous gaming room?

There were rumors of a secret room in which he played historical miniatures, but Geraldo never found any evidence.

I was hoping for the entrance to the long abandoned Wine cellar and the lost treasury of the Confederacy.

It's a cover, I mean the building. The real Hq is in a underground shelter under the dilapidated building.
