No. If forced to play just historical battles I'd be perfectly happy. But our imaginations are limitless and it's always fun to do something totally different, so I mix in fantasy and sci fi. |

Very true. I myself would be very happy to paint and play exclusively AWI. But I would like to develop rules for Mister Franklin's Leyden projectiles. |

I had some arguments here a few years ago. I held that fantasy itself had to be rooted in its own reality. Then there were those who thought that with fantasy "anything goes". Heaven knows! |

To me it's simulation of the performance of systems that occur in the real world at similar times. That is historic to me. Like a real army exercise, is it fantasy or historic? It's real world simulation of contemporary antagonists but it is not real world reproduction of an actual battle. Is it historic? Not sure but it certainly is not SF and does not have effects included that are beyond today's physics. Does it limit anything? No it's the real world and that is huge and exciting. The real world is often stranger than fiction. |

Absolutely not. From the Bronze Age to modern times, from skirmish to army level… from ground pounders over aircraft to battleships. I feel I hardly scratched the possibilities But if I feel the need to play something else, I do. Its just not called "historical" gaming… |
