Perhaps, instead of a numeric scale, it might be better to ask in terms of hours per day. Does background noise while you do chores or paint count?

1… really, hardly any. We don't have cable/satellite, and just do the occasional streaming. I'm not sure where I'd find the time to watch more!

I don't own a TV and receive no signal. Does putting something in the DVD player count? And Winston's right, of course. Hours per week is a real measure, not 0-10. (Hours per day is clearly a typo. Who would watch hours of television every day?) And the answer is about three hours of DVDs a week.

0 (Zero). I watch no live TV, and haven't done for 10 years or so. After the death of my wife, I found I was depressed and sat down and wrote what I was doing and what I wanted to do and therefore what was to go. Top of the list to go was TV. I do watch DVDs often as moving wallpaper whilst ironing/tidying/painting/browsing the internet.

I was born in 1950, so TV has always been part of my life. Now I am more likely to be watching DVDs or movies online, but I still watch at least an hour or two a day.

We stream films for the kids and us, sometimes watch DVDs; last night the girls and I began the classic Dr Who Pyramids of Mars, which was good fun. We don't have cable, so of "real" television viewing we have about O.

I usually have it on when I do hobby stuff for background. Sometimes on History Channel or HGTV, but often DVDs. One TV on for news, etc. in the house, too.

@ 8 … But much on the Travel, NATGEO, Jeopardy, History[when not showing like Pickers, Counting Cars, etc.!] SYFY[ but only rarely!], 24 Hour News[not MSNBC !] etc. And Not much of the drivel on the big 3 Channels, save e.g. Big Bang, Young Sheldon, Mom … What a hoot !

1 – I follow a single university for sports (Football and Basketball) and other than that watch maybe a couple hours per week if what my wife is watching looks interesting. Usually home improvement shows. My wife's watching would be a 3. She has a few weekly shows she has to watch and uses it for background noise sometimes.

At the moment it would be high, maybe 7-8 because I just got netflix and i'm not sure how long I'll be keeping it so I'm binge watching series and films I wouldn't be watching otherwise.
