On a scale of 0 (none) to 10 (I watch it constantly).

The Beast Rampant29 Oct 2018 10:35 p.m. PST

Does "listening to and occasionally glancing at while painting" count?

Perhaps, instead of a numeric scale, it might be better to ask in terms of hours per day.
Does background noise while you do chores or paint count?

GreenMountainBoy30 Oct 2018 3:37 a.m. PST

1… really, hardly any. We don't have cable/satellite, and just do the occasional streaming. I'm not sure where I'd find the time to watch more!

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP30 Oct 2018 3:53 a.m. PST

I don't own a TV and receive no signal. Does putting something in the DVD player count?

And Winston's right, of course. Hours per week is a real measure, not 0-10. (Hours per day is clearly a typo. Who would watch hours of television every day?)

And the answer is about three hours of DVDs a week.

PzGeneral30 Oct 2018 4:12 a.m. PST

0 (Zero). I watch no live TV, and haven't done for 10 years or so. After the death of my wife, I found I was depressed and sat down and wrote what I was doing and what I wanted to do and therefore what was to go. Top of the list to go was TV.

I do watch DVDs often as moving wallpaper whilst ironing/tidying/painting/browsing the internet.

I was born in 1950, so TV has always been part of my life. Now I am more likely to be watching DVDs or movies online, but I still watch at least an hour or two a day.

We stream films for the kids and us, sometimes watch DVDs; last night the girls and I began the classic Dr Who Pyramids of Mars, which was good fun.

We don't have cable, so of "real" television viewing we have about O.

Rich Bliss30 Oct 2018 5:28 a.m. PST

3. Used to be more but then we cut the cord and dumped cable.

Dynaman878930 Oct 2018 5:34 a.m. PST

What does 2 to 3 hours per week qualify as?

Time on internet would be 12+ or so however.

pzivh43 Supporting Member of TMP30 Oct 2018 5:53 a.m. PST

I usually have it on when I do hobby stuff for background. Sometimes on History Channel or HGTV, but often DVDs.

One TV on for news, etc. in the house, too.

Kansas City Chiefs/Royals and University of Tennessee football when they're on our limited satellite service.

And the World Cup. When it's been another four years.

1 – I follow a single university for sports (Football and Basketball) and other than that watch maybe a couple hours per week if what my wife is watching looks interesting. Usually home improvement shows.

My wife's watching would be a 3. She has a few weekly shows she has to watch and uses it for background noise sometimes.

14Bore30 Oct 2018 2:02 p.m. PST

5, some sporting events ( local NFL and F-1,) and movies

15mm and 28mm Fanatik30 Oct 2018 2:46 p.m. PST

6. I usually binge watch for hours at a time and don't follow prescribed programming schedules.

Earl of the North30 Oct 2018 4:44 p.m. PST

At the moment it would be high, maybe 7-8 because I just got netflix and i'm not sure how long I'll be keeping it so I'm binge watching series and films I wouldn't be watching otherwise.

myxemail30 Oct 2018 6:13 p.m. PST

0 TV
0 DVDs and movies
1, at best for internet hobby videos (painting, building, rules presentations or tutorials)
