At HMPD-PSW Mini-Wars convention (October 13-14), WR ran his grand table Flames of War (3rd Ed) Battle of the Bulge scenario called Peiper's Charge. Using his 20mm collection, eight players, playing as two teams of German and American, battled lengthwise along a long 18 x 5' table. The complete winter AAR, with lots of photos, is posted to Wargamerabbit blog.

In the end the Germans fall short of the last fuel depot, when scenario time period was called. Fun for all during the convention afternoon.

WOW TMPWargamerabbit, just wow!!!

This is very very impressive, thanks for sharing.

I have been thinking of running a KG Peiper scenario for FOW V4, but in 3mm because of space, costs and ease of manipulating platoons by single base.

So far my KG peiper is 32 platoons big and around 9,000 points.

I still need to determine a suitable order of battle for the americans. Looking at BF's scenario, I do not see any heavy artillery on American side.

Based on my own order of battle for the German side, I'd need to roughly multiply by three the US force in BF's scenario.

repaint.
I noticed the general lack of artillery for both sides. Scenario design by BF I guess wanted a movement game without the "bombardment" everywhere game. The SPA Grille battery packs a punch. Should note I use a "reduced "Bunker Buster" rule where everyone receives needs a "second successful save roll" when hit by a BB and not the auto kill or no save roll per the MRB Ver3.0.
