Now done another 5 Skirmish Rules tests and AARs to add my first two. The new ones are:
- Azhanti High Lightning – surprisingly good given age, and miles on from Snapshot – link
- Chain Reaction – interesting, but just seemed a bit too complicated for me. Very easy kills. Nice enemy AI though. – link
- Black Ops – very odd inverse spotting rules, and noise didn't work as well as I'd hoped. Underwhelming. link
- FiveCore – I should have stuck to just one supplement! – link
- Albedo/ACP164 – Not far off Danger Close as best set so far – link
Your mileage may vary of course!
For those who don't know ACP164 is a new version of Buck Surdu's WW2 Combat patrol skirmish rules to support the new Albedo near future SF wargame setting from Sally 4th.

The Kickstarter is still live, over 200% backed and as well as some great 28mm figures also has some lovely looking "developed world" modern/near SF terrain. Although SF and anthropomorphic "critters" based the flavour is very much plausible near future and could be adapted for ultra-moderns (or earlier) and any human based near-future SF. Do check it out (and the original Steve Gallacci comics at link – I'm a long-time fan.).
The final batch of Skirmish rules to be tested are: Paragon (1970s classic), FUBAR, Gruntz, Victory Decision:Raid, The Battlefield, and whatever I come up with myself as a result!
