Should I use some brand of Supa Glue or aqua/wood glue?

I'd suggest E6000. It dries flexible. It may work, or it may not. Cheers!

E6000 does indeed rock. Getting a small enough dollop might require a toothpick.

Whatever you use for glue, when you're done, coat the figure in about a 50-50 mix of PVA and water.

Use paper instead of the shields that come with the figures.
