I have watched this show since the beginning, and I sort of like it, but the combat actions drive me nuts! This season has been some of the worst.

***SPOILERS***

The ship's radar sucks! They can't see a battleship until they get into range of its big guns! The modern destroyers are meant to engage at long range, well outside of gun range. Shouldn't get close.

Ground combat is pretty bad. One moment they are shooting guys behind walls, and the next moment they can't manage to shoot a guy standing in a tower with a machine gun!

This week they were attacking an outpost and one of the guys kept making bayonet attacks. They also couldn't manage to snipe the guy in the tower when they were only a few yards away.

Anyway, the thing that they need most is a military adviser to make sure their combat scenes are more realistic.

Of course this is the final season, so I guess it is a moot point. I just hate to see military focused shows that have such poor military action!

I dropped out after the first season or two, since it was just getting more ridiculous than the original premise, which was pretty far out there too.

Glad to have the extra free time.

From your account, seems like I made a good decision.

Life is too short to waste it watching sub-par crap. especially when it's worse than usual.

1st of all series is done so new writers won't help but I thought all electronics were fried by the disaster which is why they missed the big blow up

I stopped watching after 3 or 4 episodes at most – when they let a Russian ship come really close before even attempting visual inspection.

Two words, Brigit Reagan.

It was entertainment, not a documentary.

No excuse for the stupidity of the writing.

I never even started watching it since I thought the whole premise of the show was stupid.

It wound my NAVSEA friends up even more than Sea Patrol annoyed my RAN chums. I just think it is awesome comedy :)

Whenever I binge-watch a series, the mistakes, inconsistencies, and outright stupidity of writers becomes even more apparent, and very entertaining. Sometimes I tire of the show itself, but stick around a little bit longer just to see how bad it gets.

As with nearly every other series that includes military or other combat it provides a host of examples of what not to do in those situations.

Bad writing. Bad acting. Implausible story lines. Interesting the writers came up with this Hispanic dictator attacking the US right in the middle of the real southern border hysteria. Did the writers ever explain how a third world country was able to obtain an Iowa Class Battleship and refit it? By the way does this show count as historical media?
