Dear members, Most likely asked before but I`m looking for a good read about the attack on Hougoumont. Clear maps and detailed account on the different stages of the attack. I`m not a gamer but a collector/painter and looking for information to base the different units and in which pose (standing at ease, marching, march attack, skirmishing,…

I have the complete set of Les Carnets de la Campagne. A good source. Need some more info on placement of the different regiments/bat. during the attack. Is the Waterloo Companion helpful in this way?

Van Damme There is a interesting little title called Hougoumont Waterloo by Julian Paget and Derek Saunders. It is only 120 pages in length but it contains quite a few images and several maps. And at the back is info on the various units involved at Hougouont from both sides, along with Appendix A: A Sequence of Events at Hougoumont, consisting of time, events and units involved in them and the various commanders. It is a nice little book and well worth a view as it concentrates on events at Hougoumont. |
