Dear members, Most likely asked before but I`m looking for a good read about the attack on Hougoumont. Clear maps and detailed account on the different stages of the attack. I`m not a gamer but a collector/painter and looking for information to base the different units and in which pose (standing at ease, marching, march attack, skirmishing,… Thanks in advance, sure you educated members will come up with some sound advice. I have the complete set of Les Carnets de la Campagne. A good source. Need some more info on placement of the different regiments/bat. during the attack. Is the Waterloo Companion helpful in this way? Regards |

Van Damme There is a interesting little title called Hougoumont Waterloo by Julian Paget and Derek Saunders. It is only 120 pages in length but it contains quite a few images and several maps. And at the back is info on the various units involved at Hougouont from both sides, along with Appendix A: A Sequence of Events at Hougoumont, consisting of time, events and units involved in them and the various commanders. It is a nice little book and well worth a view as it concentrates on events at Hougoumont. |
