If I recall the Wolf Brigade film from the late 1990s was 1) animated and 2) in Japanese.

I think Netflix now has a sequel to it that is neither of those things. It's has live acting and looks to be Korean.

Anyone seen it? Worth the time? Or is this old news to most of you guys?

Thanks

Dan
PS. Come to think of it, it doesn't look like Netflix has very much in the way of Japanese films these days. I think they used to though.

Don't know about that, Dan

For foreign films Netflix is highly country specific – tons of Chinese and Japanese stuff on the Canadian Netflix

I don't know what Jin-Roh means in Japanese, but isn't it a Korean brand of soju?

Jin Roh and IlRang both mean Man Wolf or Were Wolf

Didn't realize it was out yet. Watched it last night. From what I remember of the anime (its been a long while) It pretty much follows the Japanese version with a lot more violence and some oddities.

Instead of the Japanese riots, its riots over the Koreas reuniting against… everyone?! China, Japan, USA, and Russia all coming after Korea?! Which almost seems possible with the current political clime.

The sewer scene at the end is longer and more deaths with some silliness on just how much damage that armour can stop.

It has a "happier" ending even though I did not buy the "romance".

Overall, I liked it.

Bringing it to miniature wargaming

Now want to make a sewer terrain board, the garage door style shops, and some of the "mazes" made from internal vending machine and milk crates.

Rebel Minis Titan Marines or Eureka Sci Fi Germans should do the trick for the Special Unit if I want to do 15mm.

Also I think the RAFM has a comparable Drone miniature.
