Just finished painting up 12 of these to make up some loyalist skirmishers for Sharp Practice. Lovely sculpt and a joy to paint.

They look fantastic – I'll eventually get mine painted too, and will draw on inspiration from yours!

Very nice! How do you paint the off-white trousers?

How do you paint the off-white trousers?

At the risk of sounding flippant – with off-white paint :-)

The trousers have a base of Vallejo light grey. I then slowly build up the white using the Vallejo Off-White. It is not particularly opaque which allows some variation in shade and breaks up the solid white look. I have to say I don't enjoy painting white, I always find it a bit of struggle to get the balance right between shade and highlights.

Thanks, that's useful. I know what you mean about using white paint.

Another technique on what small clothes is to paint white and do a wash.

Virginia Tory23 Oct 2018 6:55 a.m. PST

Excellent. And what HG said. I usually use Vallejo "Off White" so it's not so bright and clean. Then you can do a wash of anything from black to brown to light grey to tint the color.

I wish I could paint that well.
