I'm guessing the 53% drove their columns of tanks into an ambush of dug-in hidden AT guns & got slaughtered… ;-)

AT guns are nothing but targets in modern warfare… Too clumsy to move quickly.

The only application for them would probably be like most old-school arty – air deployment. Not sure of the need for that though.

Maaaybe if APS gets good enough against ATGM but remains ineffective against kinetic penetrators it could make sense to try to develop smallish AT guns for light infantry? Not an easy engineering solution however…
