I bought some painted micro armor that I am stripping in simple green. How long should I soak it? Then do I use a tooth brush to clean it? Running water? |

Depends on the paint. Enamels take longer. Leave them in several hours, see if the paint has softened. I use a toothbrush to remove the paint. If it won't all come off soak it some more. Repeat until it's clean |

I left my enamels in for a couple weeks in yellow Pinesol. Of course I forgot about them, then wondered "what is in this plastic margarine tub?". On the GHQ site we discussed this about a year ago and a week or more was typical. Use a toothbrush, NOT a metal brush as one guy found out to his dismay. |

I also use a dissecting needle or dental tool to (carefully) pick residual paint out of some crevices once I've brushed them. There's always some pesky holdout crannies that are bad enough to be an issue, especially since the paint goops and swells after the soak. This will definitely be an issue around the treads. Toothbrush, pick at some trouble spots, toothbrush again. Old toothbrushes are super-handy. I have used Klean Strip (AKA and originally Strip-X) from Walmart for many years. Use gloves. |

Yes, please use gloves with any paint stripper. Many years ago I didn't when using Pine Sol and lost the outer surface of the skin on my hands. They were sore and stiff for several weeks. Jim |

Try a Crest battery operated brush. Cheap and effective. |
