"I've been posting terrain tutorials for a while, but one of the things I tend to gloss over are the specific tools, and how they can be used to achieve different effects. There are also techniques like making foam stones and bricks that really deserve their own dedicated post. This is a new tutorial series called Tools and Techniques. Each post will focus on one tool or technique and how I use it in my scenery building process…."

Very nice! I've always done this just by pressing a small awl into the plastic, but I think I'll add one of these to my arsenal. |

FWIW, there is another ready source of rivets that I've used to good effect on scratchbuilt doors and hinges. Many prescription medicine boxes here in France have braille on them, I can only assume that other countries' pharmaceutical supplies might use them as well. Just cut the piece to have rivets appropriately, and Bob's your uncle. More on an old post here: link |
