Some enthusiast (friend, relative, acquaintance) that has learned from you and to whom you can bequeath all your figures, rules, models, etc.)

In my case … fortunately … my oldest grandson … although I do not know where many thousands of figures can be store in his small apartment …(smile)

Brian Hicks, late of this parish, bequeathed his collection to Leeds Wargames Club. He also bequeathed his house, I believe, which is why Fiasco has free entry this year.

I've been thinking about for a while now …

But I'd prefer to be buried with all of my minis like an Egyptian Pharaoh. Just brick up my entire house like a tomb … evil grin

NO & actually have not thought much about it.

FusilierDan Supporting Member of TMP19 Oct 2018 2:47 p.m. PST

No, at least not yet although I think my children may take a figure or two to remember me with. I'm trying to organize them a little so selling off the collection will be easier.

alittle
some stuff to my brother and some to my other gaming friends

I am trying very hard to find them good homes before I go, lest my heirs toss them in the nearest dumpster.

[I'm tired this evening. Could someone please insert about a two-paragraph rant denouncing computer and franchise wargaming here? You can probably copy and paste it from another of my TMP comments. Thanks.]

My wife and daughter already know that my friends in wargaming will take possession of my stuff, sell the stuff and give the money to my wife and daughter.

Kevin C19 Oct 2018 8:07 p.m. PST

My son. I have already started him off right. This year I gave him some of my old Marx and Britains soldiers that I had when I was his age (45 years ago).

No

KSmyth19 Oct 2018 8:44 p.m. PST

No, but I want to be sure it is parted out to friends and colleagues who will use it and enjoy it.

Does the genetic effect of lead exposure count?

Nope, will have instructions to my survivors on selling them.

Cacique Caribe20 Oct 2018 5:16 p.m. PST

Nope. Not any longer. He went on to other hobbies, and he sold off and gave away all his minis. I doubt he would want to get stuck with mine.

My gaming group. However i'm In the middle of the pack age wise. So the younger ones will have to deal with it.

arthur181521 Oct 2018 1:47 a.m. PST

Neither of my children have shown any interest, so I've filed a Letter of Intent (which I can alter without having to alter my will) with my lawyer, specifying which of my wargaming friends is to get what – assuming they outlive me…

Both kids play.

14Bore21 Oct 2018 8:48 a.m. PST

No, assume some lucky soul here will get a message to sort it all out.

The Tin Dictator21 Oct 2018 9:10 p.m. PST

Both my sons play.
And both of them have two sons each that show interest.
So, the addiction will continue for a few more generations at least.

My sons will pick through my collection for what they want, my gaming friends will likely take some off my family's hands, and the rest will go in the trash, or to Goodwill. At that point, I will be beyond caring. Pfffttt!!! "Whatever." ;-)

Three gaming buddies will get to divide 'em up.

When getting back into the hobby I chose to go exclusively with 6mm and as much paper as possible. When I'm gone it can go straight to the trash can.
