….for NGCV U.S. Army. "The U.S. Army wants a new ICV infantry Combat Vehicle to accompany the M1A2 Abrams MBT into battle. The vehicle would take over the M2A3 Bradley's role in carrying a squad of infantry across the fast-moving battlefields, along with a limited fighting capability. Three manufacturers are working on the competition for what the Army calls the Next Generation Combat Vehicle (NGCV)…."

I really can't see the Griffin III winning, not with a capacity of 6. CV90 would be my preference, that's a solid platform with all the bugs worked out. It will probably be the Lynx, though. |

The CV90 family would be the winner in my mind. All the variants are already in production (IFV, mortar, air defense, engineer, ambulance, C3V, etc.), the family has been extensively field-tested, and it's already NATO-compatible. Plus, the AJAX/Lynx concept and Griffin III are heavily overweight at well over 40 tons, which raises questions of being able to cross bridges with a lighter MLC, as may be found in Europe and Korea. The M113 was only 13 tons, the Bradley was 27 tons, and the CV90 comes in at about 23 tons for the basic IFV. That weight limits air portability, as well. |

Hilarious that they just get the paladin and new m113-type replacement all on the Bradley chassis/suspension for efficiency that they start changing them up again. |

@Enemy Ace: Given how long the procurement cycle is, we should be replacing the Paladins about the time the NGCV rolls out. |
