I have added two more guns and two more artillery crews for my Crown Forces. So four stands of artillery. Figures are from Fife and Drum miniatures.

Nicely done.

The Fife & Drum figures are very nice. You have done them justice!

Old Contemptibles16 Oct 2018 10:49 p.m. PST

Very nice. My those are thick bases. I am just the opposite I have the thin metal bases. They look to be wood. Do you cut them yourself? Very nice grass on yours.

Virginia Tory23 Oct 2018 6:57 a.m. PST

Looking good. They are wearing the modified caps Burgoyne's gunners had during the 1777 campaign.

Old Contemptibles23 Oct 2018 9:05 a.m. PST

Perfect for Saratoga. Got some of these myself.

Thank you for the nice compliments. The bases are from Litko. I am of two kinds about bases. My Crimean War armies were mounted on thick bases so people would pick up the bases rather then the figure. But, people being people they still grab the figure! My Rev War armies were started with the same bases so just carried on. But when I started my War of 1812 I moved to much thinner bases which truth be told I do like better. Go figure? Will I rebase everything? Only time will tell.

Grass is much static grass. I got it to match my citidel battle mats ( I have three). It is not fashionable but I want my bases to blend with the ground.

Awesome work!
Winston/OFM/Frodo would be pleased.
God rest his soul…….

I agree about John the OFM and Supercilious Maximus. This board is not the same place without them. And I miss them both.

lucky1oldman24 Oct 2018 6:49 a.m. PST

So we lost both of them? I don't participate much in the discussions here much as I defer to others more qualified than I. If this is so they will be greatly missed as their contributions were always insightful and helpful to the newly initiated.

Are you saying these three passed away?

Old Contemptibles24 Oct 2018 8:30 a.m. PST

As far as TMP is concern they are.

I just visited Miracle Max.
I was only mostly dead.

Once again nice figures, and oh yeah by the way.

SM is not dead. I just exchanged comments with him last week. Maybe not frequenting TMP as much as the FB AWI boards.

23rdFusilier24 Oct 2018 11:06 a.m. PST

In fact SM is on the message boards at Jim Purkey's Fife and Drum miniatures forum. It is all 18th century and has a growing American Revolution section. You can find it here:

Fife and Drum is a nice site.

John comes back from the dead. Good to have you back. Good to hear as to the good health of SM.
