Nice pictures, Tango!
The shields look like they are made of metal> I've seen some in the Polemos Museum in Athens, which were made of a dark brown hide, perhaps hippopotamus. I don't now if they'd age to dark brown or turned that quickly. Having metal as another option is interesting.

I don't believe the shields were metal but stiffened hide that would be grey or dark brown IIRC.
