If all you do is watch the first couple of minutes if this video, check out how he lays out his washer-based figures for priming: YouTube link Around here the strips of adhesive magnets come in cheap rolls. I don't know how I never thought of using magnets instead of the customary blue tac. I don't know about y'all, but I think that idea is simply genius! So simple, a caveman could do it. Dan |

Back when I based on washers, I did to prime and "unit-paint". The slats were louvers I broke out of a neighbor's junked cabinet door. They had a good feel, much better than the yardstick bits I had tried before. I also used round magnets glued to old paint pots (like Howard Hues) for painting individual minis. |

I base on metal. Use those round button magnets found in craft staores glued to roofing nails. The magnet holds the figure while using the nail as a handle. The nail also sticks in a styrofoam block while not working on the figure. |

Better yet, base on magnets then prime them on steel strips then you can safely store in tool boxes with metal drawers, the magnets keep them from sliding around,(Craftsman makes a very nice, light weight, 3 drawer tool box with metal drawers). |

Here is my take on the use of magnets: link Basically wood hand with disk magnet to hold figure with washer base. Large washer on base of handle to allow holding multiple handles at once on strip of wood of wood |

DyeHard I think I saw this a while back and already started making something similar, but it got put on hold. I've got to dig them up again, specially now that I want to get back to painting a bit. Dan |

For me, magnetic basing, then put the figures onto a stick that has steel sheet on it. I can then then move the figures around without having to touch them again. Even turn them upside down to paint/prime the underneath of the figure. |
