I saw the announcement here, and I've seen a copy of this game at my FLGS, but has anyone had the chance to play it yet? The rules seem interesting enough, though they do rely on data cards and custom marked dice. And the figures look fantastic. The prices are not out of line for this sort of game, even if I find them high as an "old fart". :) For anyone who has played "Chain Reaction" or "All Things Zombie" (my go-to games for gang warfare), how does this compare? The single- and coop- play modes sound familiar even if the implementation is very different. And of course the rules are very Fallout inspired (with S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats and such). I have no doubt that the game captures the feel of Fallout better than a general set like CR would, but the real question is, "is it fun?" |

This game feels like it's half board game, with all the equipment cards and such. But that also adds a tremendous amount of atmosphere. I can't help but get excited about what I can see from the few previews available. I guess I'm only asking my question here because there's a decent chance one or more of you have played this game at a convention or demo. |

I'm still painting my starter set and haven't gotten a chance to play yet. I've watched a few games on youtube. It seems much more complicated than THW but also looks like it captures the feel of the video game with all the extra items and choices. The tokens seem a bit excessive but i already see ways to cut back on them. |

I need to look up the youtube videos. That will probably tell me what I need to know. How are the figures? Do they paint up nicely? (I mean in the way that some figures are easier to paint than others due to clever sculpting choices.) I downloaded the rules, and I think it might have too many fiddly bits for my tastes, but it does seem to be a credible tabletop game implementation of the video game, and that's pretty impressive. |

The core set miniatures are pvc. Some detail is lost in the transition from resin and some from painters skill (meaning I can't paint plastic very well!). All the add on sets are resin and the detail is good (haven't painted/ primed any yet) although they seem a bit soft. No reason you cant use the figures and item cards for a simpler system like THW or This is not a test |

Those figures are calling out to me. I've watched the youtube videos of gameplay, and it doesn't seem too bad, but all those markers, special dice, and icons to remember…. I found an old Fallout conversion for Chain Reaction 2.0 that seems like it could be "infused" with some of this game's flavor without much difficulty. Somewhere between CR2 and 5150 is probably the sweet spot. (I know CR has gone through many revisions since mid-2000, but I'm still partial to "CR2 – Fully Loaded" and "ATZ – Better Dead Than Zed". Probably because that's what I "cut my teeth" on, and I haven't played really much of anything for the last few years, so I haven't learned the newer systems. Though I pick and choose bits of other editions, like everyone does.) |

Well, watching the videos has impressed me with the level of fidelity, but also convinced me that playing the game would drive me crazy. |
