Anyone make reasonably priced, nicely detailed, Modern Chinese and Japanese naval vessels?

PFC was my first thought, but they only have US and Russian vessels, sadly. They're priced at about 50%, or less than the GHQ minis, which makes them rather attractive, if you are in need of some of those.

$12 USD for a single escort vessel, $25 USD or so for an amphibious assault ship, and $40 USD for a carrier just isn't in the budget for the GHQ stuff, even though it is beautiful.

Looking primarily for Chinese and Japanese escorts, though a carrier or amphibious vessel (Japanese F-35B carrier) would be nice too.

Any other sources, preferably in metal?

Shapeways?

I thought of that as a backup, though would prefer metal, if possible.

Don't recall Superior ever producing any for China or Japan. Are they still in business?

I thought I read some time ago they were ceasing ops, or there was a major customer service issue with them.

Ah, I see Alnavco has taken over the range, but sadly, don't see any Modern Chinese or Japanese vessels.

Don't forget the modern Russian range. The Admiral Kuznetzov is a good standin for the Liaoning. The current VF model is an improvement of their older one. Radar fit is wrong but close and, if you use it, get rid of the Cake Stand radar

Thanks for the suggestions, and yes, the Kuz works for me.

Now though, I need TWO of them.

Shapeways has quite a few current Chinese ships. Also Japanese and South Korean. Not the quality of GHQ and not metal, but not the price either. Definitely good enough for wargaming.

Here's my current list of modern 1/2400 scale ships – it lists all the various models and manufacturers.
