What has been recent experience for the level of painting, quality control, and consistency across a "big batch" from Fernando? They seemed to have gone through some bad times a few years ago. Interested in any replies, looking to do some 15mm from them. Please note the level of paint job you ordered. Also, for 15mm, does the collector level really use the black line on white trousers for shadows as shown on the site? As a sample, that looks bad to me, but I am guessing you could specify to use light gray, for instance. Thanks.

The last couple groups of painted 15mm figures I've received from Fernando were excellent. The figures I've had painted were Colonial era, Sudan and Anglo-Zulu War. In fact, I just received a small box this past weekend and I was very happy with the standard of painting. I think in any business which employs skilled artists there will be some difference between individuals. Some groups of figures I've liked much better than others but on the whole I've been very pleased with the figures painted by the artists at Fernando. There hasn't been much in the way of black lining used on my figures probably because of the figure's uniforms and the requisite color palette. The Ansar I've had painted used a grey undercoat that produced a pleasing shading effect to the off-white that was used for the Jibbeh. It appears that a brown undercoat was used on the Sikh and Punjabi infantry and British Lancers that recently arrived. The brown was a good and effective choice given the Khaki-colored uniforms. The horses were particularly well painted. I'm thrilled with them. When I consider that the figures I had painted were old Mikes Models, I'm especially impressed with how nicely the figures turned out. grin

I've been very pleased with the thousands of Napoleonic 15mm I've had them paint for me at the Super Showcase level.

I find them easy to do business with.

In fact, just sent them another decent size order.

What are the shipping prices like? Obviously the heavier the amount the higher the costs but wondering if the cost of shipping outweighs the overall buying experience?

In my experience the return shipping cost has never exceeded the discount from the order so its never been a thought.

As far as shipping to them I've used USPS Flat Rate Priority which I believe is now around $75 USD for international shipping.

So when I send 1,000 figures that is not even 8 cents a figure. In my eyes that is a negligible rounding error.
