Looking for something generic and mostly figures that can be crewing guns or doing things like posed piloting the wheel and working the decks. |

I use Bob Murch's Pulp Figures deck crew for that: link Lovely sculpts! He also has a wide variety of merchant sailors, though the weapons are post-Victorian: link Rick |

Also Pulp era, but not crazily out of period are Brigade Games' sailors: link Or are you looking more for classic whites? |

Old Glory sells a nice bag of Sailors of different nationalities in the Western Powers portion of it's Boxer Rebellion line. The various poses are suitable for manning guns, the wheelhouse, etc. |

I second Old Glory. Add in a pack of naval brigade from the great powers collection or American or Spanish from the Spanish American war line for some officers and rifle armed sailors (as well as material for head swaps) and you're all set. |

Which sailors might be appropriate for the 1830-1870s time period? I've seen Copplestone but don't know if the time period is much later. |

I went ahead and ordered the Old Glory Sailor pack as that fit the time period the best I thought. However, all the other suggestions have me considering some future projects. I might still order the Bob Murch aka Pulp Figures packs simply for the great character of the models. |
