Hmm …

Statistically speaking, aren't there more cannibalistic serial killers in cities than out in the country? I seem to recall some articles about that.

And they only go out to the suburbs, open fields and out in the country to dispose of evidence that they can't hide under concrete in basements, vats of acid, or any other way, right?

But I guess that "Hillbillies" are a safe group for the brave big city-folk to target and vilify. :)

Don't forget old white men, Dan.;-)

Of course, Dan. But there are far more urban than rural script-writers, producers and directors.

James Dickey got lost in the backwoods south. The locals found him, fed him, got him pointed in the right direction, and if I remember correctly, fixed his car. Then he went home and wrote Deliverance.

Robert: "James Dickey got lost in the backwoods south. The locals found him, fed him, got him pointed in the right direction, and if I remember correctly, fixed his car. Then he went home and wrote Deliverance."

Why am I not surprised?

These days, when city folk want to be funny on trips, they often say that they heard banjos as they are pulling up to someone's property. Even on a British television series on Netflix, Innocents (2018), the cops said that as they were pulling up to the driveway of a house on the outskirts of town.

I can't believe I'm suggesting a remake of any kind … but how about a really scary* version of C.H.U.D. (Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers)?

I think it's time to bring scary back to town. :)

Dan
* Not a comedic version, like many of today's remakes are done. Make it more like the original Jaws on the scare-o-meter, but set it under the city, with their own as the monsters.
