To go along with my post about why I think Kill Team is misunderstood by some players, I built this squad of Cadians for the game.

In "customizing" minis. for this game, I think a lot of people think that means that you are creating like five or ten individual character soldiers as if you were creating like a ten-man Marvel X-Men squad or something.

To me the whole concept of customizing miniatures for Kill Team is not to make every mini. into a hyper-individualized model with crazy unique stuff all over it.

It's more about making squads of troops that look field-ready. For me it's much more fun to make Kill Teams where you add gear so that they actually look like soldiers on campaign. Soldiers that need to drink water, eat rations, and sleep.

I bought a bunch of resin stuff from Kromlech/Bits of War: backpacks, pouches, canteens, etc. Kromlech's resin bits are fantastic, and the scale is perfect for 28mm 40k models.

I think that the additional resin field gear makes these Cadians look SO much better than they do just building them straight out of the box:

I bought similar gear for my Ork Kill Team. It improves the models immensely!

I agree with your approach to what KT is.
Look forward to seeing your Orks as well…

They look great. I love the additions.

The U.S. mil-spec canteen with cover is a timeless design. I'm sure the Cadians' version uses a polyester-based smart fabric for the cover and a lightweight, fracture-resistant plastic for the canteen itself, instead of canvas/aluminum or nylon/polyethylene.

They are going to look great. I can't wait to see them painted and on the table.

I think this is one of the nice things about the Starstriders, especially the voidsmen. They are in the same equipment more or less but each model has character to them. One guy has a cigar, another is a woman, there is one regular dude and then the commander and the heavy. 5 models but each with their onw little story if you want.

Yeah, that's about what I did with my Tau (though I started the team in Shadow War Armageddon, so they have some extra pistols and stuff that's not an option in KT).

Not as much baggage because they're mostly Pathfinders and therefore live out of the back of a Devilfish, plus I figure a Tau's warsuit has built-in Camelback etc.

Good looking troops Baranovich, I hope they serve you well.

I have a bunch of various space marine armor marks that I'm going to mix and match for my troops. Should give them that "scavenged armor been campaigning for a long time lived in look." Might even model one with a pine tree air freshener around his neck.:)
