Here are my Elucidian Starstriders.
Here are the Voidsmen:
Rules wise they are a little better than your average IG guy. I think the figures look pretty sharp and they were fun to paint. I got them finished first. The Captain of the ship is up next. She is the Rogue Trader Eludidia Vhane.
One of the least interesting figures in the group in terms of pose and equipment. Still nice detail on it. Then there is the Lectro-Maester.
He has a force field thing and a zappy pistol of some sort. Not much of a threat honestly but in Kill Team games he will be pretty useful. The Rejueve Adept:
Not a bad little medic figure. I can see her being used in all kinds of games, especially in Necromunda eventually. She is a pretty cool ship medic though and I'm looking forward to playing through the Rogue Trader campaign thing and using her. Death Cult Executioner Knossos Prond:
' Perhaps a future Dr. Who companion? She might have to put the head down first. Overall a neat little bunch. They add up to 145 pts. in 40K so won't be anybody's main force. They would add a very characterful element to another Imperial force though. I hope GW puts out a box of Voidsmen on their own eventually. I wouldn't want to do a big army with this force but it would be neat to put about 500 pts of them on the table in 40K games. I don't know if it is worth spending the $130 USD to get the Kill Team set just for these figures. In terms of value I'd imagine if they were sold individually you would be looking at about $70. Again, Spaceship Gaming? Geezus dude. |
Pictors Studio | 27 Sep 2018 3:32 p.m. PST |
Yeah, space ship crew go in spaceship gaming. |

There is a lot of characters in those models. Nicely done. |

The game features the crew of a spaceship, fighting IN a spaceship. I don't understand either Akalabeth's issue, or why it was removed from spaceship gaming? Lovely work on the miniatures. |

Buzzard, have you visited the spaceship gaming forum? When nearly every single thread features spaceships fighting other spaceships in the battlefield of space it should be pretty self-apparent why it does not belong in spaceship gaming. This particular gaming niche is well understood by its community members. Visit a dedicated starship gaming website like Star Ranger and you wont find any 28mm miniatures games like Space Hulk in the list of starship games. Perhaps the only thing close is old Noble Armada in which RPG characters could operate starships and board sections of enemy ships, but boarding was not the game, it was a subsection of the game; figures were placed on a ship record sheet while the main action, of ships fighting other ships, played out on the battlefield. Spaceship wargaming is understood to be ships vs ships, simple as that. |

Nice work, man. Those are great. |

Akalabeth +1 Nice work, Pictors, but wrong board entirely. SF Gallery is your board for showing off these pics, SF Discussion for talking about the game. Otherwise this board is for spaceships, not their crews. (In the same manner that the Biplanes board is not about the pilots when on the ground, but only when flying (in which case they're in their cockpits).) IIRC, I was the person who originally proposed this board, and it was quite clear in the discussion (and in the title) that the board is about combat between spacecraft, as SFB, Full Thrust, A Call to Arms, Starmada, BFG, GOBS, ASFoS, etc., etc. (too many to not avoid leaving some great games off, alas). This is your board for these games and their ships. Nothing against spacecrew, but a crew without a ship is just a bunch of bums banging around the space dock, giving the local constabulary something to do. |

Great painting on great miniatures, but, yeah, I agree with comments from Akalabeth, Parzival, and others about forum selection. |

That much angst over forum selection? Talk about first world problems. Relax folks. |

Parzival, "Otherwise this board is for spaceships, not their crews. (In the same manner that the Biplanes board is not about the pilots when on the ground, but only when flying (in which case they're in their cockpits).)" I respectfully disagree. This isn't about pilots on the ground or even space crew on the ground. This is about combat between spacecraft. A boarding action is a combat between two spacecraft. Spacecraft crews that participate in boarding actions are part of the spaceship gaming board. There have always been discussions about this sort of thing in the Spaceship gaming board. I'll show you shortly. Akalbeth, "Spaceship wargaming is understood to be ships vs ships, simple as that." It isn't as simple as that obviously. Boarding torpedoes and the actions that result on ships is part of ship vs ship combat. These figures are absolutely appropriate for this board. |

Editor in Chief Bill removed your cross posts. Why are you still debating this? Try to be respectful of other people's experience on this board. People go to spaceship gaming for spaceships. Not for 28mm victorian-styled sci fi and not for 28mm underhive street gangs. I don't understand your mentality when a half-dozen people are saying they don't think your thread is appropriate for the spaceship gaming board and you keep trying to convince them that it is. That attitude is simply disrespectful, particularly to those of us who are only interested in the spaceship gaming genre. |
Pictors Studio | 30 Sep 2018 4:03 a.m. PST |
I go to the spaceship gaming board for both spaceship-to-spaceship battles and boarding actions, as it says "For discussion of anything related to spaceship wargaming." It has always included 28mm figures. Since the very beginning of the board. You ar ethe one being disrespectful from the start. You didn't read the thread in question. You are hypocritical about with your elitist attitude (especially when you have approved messages about video games, which do not include miniatures.) I don't even know why it bothers you. You could simply ignore the thread and the board would be inclusive for those that want to literally see "discussion of anything related to spaceship wargaming." Not just your narrow definition. |
Akalabeth | 30 Sep 2018 11:05 a.m. PST |
Apparently asking you to be respectful of other people's user experience means nothing since you just deliberately necroed eight non-spaceship threads in the Spaceship Gaming Forum which all have not had a post for more than TEN YEARS. |
